I can hear the hum
of the drones above
i can feel the rumble
of the sentry guns
i can smell the bodies
burning in the mud
& i can taste the iron
from the pools of blood

We’re fighting and resisting
evolution that’s man made
Monsters forged from metal
deactivated their fail-safes
They download and rebooted
with recursive self improvement
upgraded makes and models
now patrolling the landscape

Their satellite sensors
and infrared scanning
trigger pin-point precision

they’ve locked on our positions
with hell fire ammunitions
orbital weapons systems
start engulfing the planet

After the blast and shockwaves
smashed all that remained.
Seismic activity reshaped
the world’s terrain.
Cultures, ideologies,
societies, erased.
The labors of centuries
now gone without a trace

The days and weeks that follow
darkness swallows the earth.
Most died of toxic fallout
or from hunger and burns.
The Incinerated cities
where survivors had emerged
are hunted down by cyborgs
that are sent to kill and purge
